Guts & Blackpowder Objective Maps

Every campaign map with checkpoints, holdouts, and escape objectives ?ranked by difficulty.

Objective mode delivers the core campaign experience in Guts & Blackpowder. Teams progress through historical Napoleonic battlefields overrun by the undead, completing checkpoints, surviving holdout timers, and reaching escape points before the horde consumes them. Unlike compact Endless arenas, Objective maps tell a linear story with scripted events, environmental hazards, and multi-phase encounters that test every class role. This page lists every campaign map, its difficulty, Franc rewards, and links to detailed walkthroughs.

Beginner Campaigns

Vardøhus Fortress introduces Objective mechanics gently. Short holdout phases, predictable shambler routes, and a straightforward escape sequence make it the recommended first campaign. Teams learn checkpoint activation, soldier rescue mechanics, and basic formation fighting without overwhelming special zombie types.

San Sebastian adds complexity with a boat escape finale and sacrifice objective. One player must stay behind to activate the escape vessel while the team covers them ?a coordination test that prepares groups for harder maps. Our San Sebastian walkthrough covers the sacrifice timing in detail.

Intermediate Campaigns

Leipzig stretches team endurance with longer routes between checkpoints. Bombers and Runners appear in greater numbers, requiring players to identify threat types quickly. Open streets favor musket volley formations, while indoor sections demand blunderbuss clearing from Seamen. The Leipzig walkthrough marks every chokepoint and holdout timer.

London mixes urban combat with river crossing segments. Igniters create fire hazards that make water buckets essential purchases before queueing. Bridge holdout phases test whether your team can maintain a firing line under runner pressure while Sappers rebuild barricades between waves.

Expert Campaigns

Roscoff combines coastal terrain, extended holdout sequences, and high special-zombie density. Teams without a dedicated Surgeon and Chaplain struggle with infection attrition across the map's length. Cuirassier spawns during the final escape phase punish teams that exhausted ammunition during earlier holdouts.

Berezina is the ultimate Objective test. The frozen river crossing, multi-stage fortification defense, and simultaneous threat vectors from multiple directions require near-perfect team coordination. Franc rewards are the highest among campaign maps, but completion rates remain low without experienced squads. Bring fully upgraded weapons and maximum utility stacks from the shop.

Objective Map Structure

Every campaign follows a similar structural pattern regardless of setting:

  1. Deployment phase ?team spawns and organizes class roles.
  2. Checkpoint progression ?advance through map sections, clearing zombie groups.
  3. Holdout events ?timed defense at fortified positions; embedded Holdout mechanics.
  4. Special events ?soldier rescues, sacrifice objectives, environmental hazards.
  5. Escape sequence ?final sprint to extraction; failure means restarting.

Francs distribute partially at checkpoints and as a completion bonus. Even failed runs that reach mid-map checkpoints award partial currency, making Objective mode a viable ?if slower ?alternative to Endless farming for players who prefer narrative progression.
